James Gilligan is an award-winning Sydney-based cinematographer, working mainly across documentary/factual and advertising. 


With projects shooting in Japan, China, Hong Kong, Singapore, Iceland and New Caledonia, his work includes feature length documentaries and factual television for major networks such as the ABC, SBS, ITV (UK), Discovery and Disney+, and commercials for brands such as Toyota, QANTAS, Breville, and RSPCA Pet Insurance.
